So happy to see everybody's posts. We are slowly growing in numbers, and the fruits of that growth are exciting to see. I am so happy to see that this assignment inspired some very interesting photographs. 2 Snails - amazing! 2 Flip flop pics - funny! I think our photos are really good and inspiring this go around.
Looking forward to future assignments! The next one is already posted!!!

Assignment .03

Scale due June 23.2011

Take a photo using the idea of Scale (scale in the sense of size, not music). Take a picture of something huge . . . or take a picture of something tiny . . . or find some way to represent the idea of scale. We are excited to see your contributions. You only have one week - so jump to it, clubbers.

As the deadline for this assignment loomed (and my own emotion shot remained elusive) I began to worry whether this was too ambitious for what would be a first-go at street photography for many of you.  I opened the club email last night with my eyes squinted, worried I would find it empty.  Instead, I saw that the photoclubbers had come through with shots of joy, longing, the meeting place of elation and fatigue, familial revelry, and more than a little Bostonian ennui.
Good work clubbers!  You've done me proud :)  I hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as I enjoyed your pictures.

Tomorrow a new assignment will be posted--new comers and wanna-be's welcome!

Assignment .02

Emotion due June 14.2011

Take a photo that clearly shows emotion.  The photo must be of a stranger, to help everyone get their feet wet with street photography.  The closer, the better, but we won't put a distance limit on this assignment.  Keep in mind Robert Capa's statement, "If your pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough." (And he's not talking about zoom lenses!)
